If you’re in UGC or are fairly active on Twitter, you might have come across Emylee Grace.

Who is Emylee Grace?

Emylee is a micro-influencer turned UGC creator with a background in marketing and design.

She works in various niches with a sharp focus on lifestyle, home goods, and wellness.

Her creative business incorporates multiple service offerings, including content creator, editor, and social media manager.

When she's not working on building her personal brand and relationships, she can be found hanging out with her daughter, going on a hike, or trying out a new coffee recipe.

We caught up with Emylee to learn more about her approach to providing thoughtful incentives to her clients.

Shannon: You recently tweeted about providing your clients with complimentary unboxing or trend videos. What inspired you to take this approach to delighting your customers?

Emylee: I actually got this idea from a UGC class I took from Sean Sagun a couple of months ago. She shared an example of her package structures, including the complimentary unboxing or trend video, which I thought was super cool.

I got to thinking; since I'm still building relationships with brands and don't have a huge repertoire like Sean yet, I will start offering this for every deal I get, no matter what!

That's how I'm working to get clients to value our relationship and keep coming back for more.

Shannon: Love that! Can you share an example of a particularly creative or unique incentive you have offered to your clients? How did it contribute to building loyalty and boosting sales?

Emylee:s As many of us know, the big trend on TikTok right now is CapCut templates. They're being pushed more than normal and typically generate lots of views & engagement. So if it's fitting and/or appropriate, I'll take a trending CapCut template and create a video with that based on the brand's product.

Even though it's not a long video and really doesn't take a lot of effort, it's about going that extra mile for your clients and taking one thing off their plate.

Every brand I've offered these extras to is always pleasantly surprised; many of them are used to creators doing the bare minimum of what they ask, getting paid, and never hearing from them again.

That's not how I roll.

To succeed in this space, you must stand out from the rest and make yourself a memorable face. So when I've proven that I truly care and can do that little extra thing, it creates these relationships that I can take with me for the rest of my career.

Shannon: What a great way of tapping into viral culture while serving your client! What is your process to determine what kind of incentives to offer? What impact have you seen on customer loyalty and retention since implementing these sweet incentives?

Emylee: Usually, I'll consider what's trending on social media, whether that's a specific sound or a CapCut template or something else. I'll see if any of these relate to the brand and would suit their vision.

If nothing else seems right, I'll do the unboxing video with a trending sound as the background music, and that will do just as well.

People love a good aesthetic unboxing for the right product. This shows my clients that I'm willing to do the brand market analysis for them and for the market itself and tie all those pieces together to make something great. It's a no-brainer for success.

Shannon: Can you share a success story or memorable experience about surprising and delighting a customer with an incentive? How did it enhance their overall experience with your brand?

Emylee: Recently, I worked with a brand that needed organic, testimonial-style content. One-off video deal, nothing super huge or daunting.

I created their desired content, but I also submitted another piece: a very brief "GRWM" style video showing me using the products with a trending sound in the background. They loved it, and definitely weren't expecting it!

So much so that they ended up paying me extra for that video, and we've now been in talks about another multi-video deal. All because I went that extra mile.
