🌱 Strategy to Scale > 5 Weird (But Wildly Effective) Ways To Land Clients

If you cringe checking your bank account lately, it's about damn time we do something about it!

Today I’m sharing some unique, but crazy effective ways to start landing clients, this week.

Let’s jump right in and get you paid!

1) Pitch in Person

In this digital age, the power of face-to-face communication cannot be underestimated. Seek out local small businesses with incredible products but limited brand exposure.

Engaging them in person is an untapped gold mine of opportunity. Show them how your personality and the unique creativity you can offer elevate their brand, and watch as you effortlessly seal the deal.

Trust me; this approach is the most overlooked and the easiest sale you'll ever make!

Here’s how:

  1. Make a list of all your favorite shops, cafes, salons, boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants in your area.

  2. Draft a short, simple script introducing who you are and what you have to offer. Practice this until it’s committed to memory.

  3. Perform research on each to determine the key opportunity or gap, you can help them with.

  4. Determine the best time to visit. A coffee shop opens and closes early, so showing up towards the end of the day ensures they aren’t crazy busy and have the time to chat. For restaurants, coming in between services (i.e., lunch to dinner) is best as it is slower. Coming soon after they open is ideal for boutiques, as it’s always slower in the mornings.

  5. Show up in person and ask for the owner or manager. (Don’t worry if they aren’t there on your first visit. Get their name (or business card) and ask when they will be in next).

  6. Be your amazing self, get to know them and their story, then pitch your offer!

2) Power Pitch

Why wait for brands to come to you? Take MF charge and create a sample video showcasing your skills. Watermark it and send it to brands you're interested in collaborating with. Emphasize the unique value you can bring to their brand and request a call to discuss further.

This bold and proactive move will demonstrate your creativity, initiative, and passion for working with them!

3) Leverage Facebook Groups

Facebook groups are buzzing hives of opportunities waiting to be discovered. Join UGC, Influencer, and Content Creator groups where brands frequently post partnership openings. Keep a keen eye on these groups as opportunities arise all the time.

This untapped resource can connect you with brands seeking creatives just like you. Don't miss out!

Start here:

4) Make a Video Resume

Picture this: a rejection-proof video resume that captivates brands and leaves them in awe of your skills. That's exactly what you need to create. Craft a compelling video resume that showcases your best work, personality, and passion for content creation. Include this gem with EVERY. SINGLE. PITCH.

The impact of a well-crafted video resume can't be overstated. It's your ticket to standing out in a sea of applicants.

Here's a great example:

5) Start Skill Stacking

Why limit yourself to just creating content? Broaden your horizons by offering high-value professional services as well. Skill stacking allows you to expand your offerings and cater to a wider range of clients. Think about the skills you can bring to the table beyond content creation. Maybe it's graphic design, social media strategy, or copywriting.

The more skills you stack, the more valuable you become in the eyes of potential clients!

Steal any one of these 9 skills to get you started:

These unconventional strategies are the secret ingredients to success for content creators.

Embrace your creativity, step outside your comfort zone, and watch as your client roster skyrocket! 🚀

🚀 Brand Boost > Debunking 13 Lies You've Been Told About Your Personal Brand

Building a strong personal brand is an empowering journey, but there are some misconceptions that can hold us back from achieving our full potential.

Today I will debunk these lies and share some eye-opening truths to crafting an authentic and impactful personal brand that resonates with your audience.

Lie #1: You need a massive following to have a successful personal brand. Truth: Focus on building an engaged and loyal community. Quality over quantity. Your success lies in the meaningful connections you create, not just in numbers.

Lie #2: You have to be active on every social media platform. Truth: Identify the platforms where your target audience is most active and invest your time and energy there. Don't spread yourself too thin; instead, be present where it matters most.

Lie #3: Personal branding is a one-time effort. Truth: Personal branding is an ongoing process. As you grow and evolve, consistently evaluate and refine your brand to align with your journey.

Lie #4: You must hide your flaws and present a perfect image. Truth: Embrace authenticity. Your vulnerabilities can make you relatable and endearing to your audience. Showcasing your real self will create a deeper connection.

Lie #5: Copying others will guarantee success. Truth: Be true to yourself. Differentiate yourself by showcasing your unique voice, perspective, and talents. Authenticity sets you apart.

Lie #6: Personal branding is only about online presence. Truth: Build your brand offline too. Attend events, speak at conferences, and network to establish your expertise in the real world.

Lie #7: Personal branding is solely about personal gain. Truth: Serve others. Make an impact by sharing your knowledge, supporting others, and contributing to your community. It's a win-win situation.

Lie #8: You have to be an expert in everything. Truth: Focus on your strengths and niche. Position yourself as an authority in your area of expertise. Specialization speaks volumes.

Lie #9: Personal branding is a quick path to overnight success. Truth: Building a strong personal brand takes time, consistency, and dedication. Be patient and persistent; success will come with consistent effort.

Lie #10: Personal branding is an individual journey. Truth: Collaborate with others in your industry. Networking and partnerships can accelerate your brand's growth and open new opportunities.

Lie #11: Personal branding is only for extroverts and outgoing individuals. Truth: Personal branding is for everyone. Introverts can leverage their unique strengths, such as deep listening and thoughtful insights, to build meaningful connections.

Lie #12: Personal branding requires you to be active 24/7. Truth: Set boundaries and prioritize self-care. Consistency is important, but it's equally vital to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Lie #13: Personal branding is just about self-promotion. Truth: While personal branding involves showcasing your strengths, it's also about providing value to others. Focus on how you can genuinely help and uplift your audience, and the promotion will naturally follow. Personal branding is a two-way street of giving and receiving.

Remember, your personal brand is about showcasing your unique value and building authentic connections.

By debunking these lies, you can focus on the truths that will help you create a compelling and impactful personal brand that reflects your authentic self!

✨ CEO Mindset > Choosing Yourself, Always

After a sobering two weeks of life throwing everything it can at me, I’ve found myself pondering about the pursuit of happiness a lot lately.

I guess that is what one does when forced to slow down to a mere crawl.

In the pursuit of finding answers, I've rediscovered the true power of living in the present moment. Rather than obsessing over an uncertain future, I've adopted some tiny (but effective) habits that have transformed my perspective and set the groundwork for a healthier (mind, body, and soul) tomorrow.

Today, I'm sharing 7 tiny habits with you, backed by science, that solopreneurs like us can practice every day always to choose ourselves, regardless of what life throws our way.

1. Morning Mindfulness: Start your day with a moment of mindfulness. Take a few deep breaths, set your intentions for the day, and focus on the present before diving into your creative endeavors. This small practice will center your mind and set a positive tone for the day ahead.

2. Gratitude Journaling: Each day, jot down a few things you're grateful for in a journal or notebook and place it where you work. Gratitude cultivates a positive mindset and reminds us of the abundance in our lives, helping us stay resilient in the face of challenges.

3. Creative Breaks: Take short breaks throughout your workday to engage in creative activities purely for enjoyment. Whether it's doodling, sketching, or writing in a personal journal, these breaks nourish your creativity and reduce stress.

4. Embracing Imperfections: Let go of the quest for perfection and embrace the beauty of imperfections. Understand that growth comes from learning and evolving, not from being flawless.

5. Disconnect to Reconnect: Dedicate specific periods in your day to disconnect from digital distractions. Use this time to immerse yourself in nature, read a book, or simply be present with loved ones.

6. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself, especially during challenging times. Treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding you'd offer a friend facing similar struggles.

7. Reflect and Celebrate: At the end of each day, take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments, no matter how small. Celebrate your wins, as they contribute to your growth and progress.

By embracing these tiny habits, you'll empower yourself to stay grounded in the present moment and navigate the uncertainties of life with grace.

Remember, solopreneurship is not just about the end result; it's a journey of self-discovery, growth, and passion.

Choosing yourself, no matter what, is the key to finding fulfillment in your life endeavors.
